About Granville, Ohio...
Granville is located approximately 30 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio, and less than 10 miles north of Interstate 70 (Exit 126 - Granville-Lancaster) on Route 37 North. To get to Granville's downtown, take 37 North over the Route 16 overpass until you reach Broadway. Turn right on Broadway for most shops, banks, inns and offices.
Granville was settled in 1805 by New Englanders from Granville, MA, and Granby, CT, who sought more fertile farmland. Today, Granville is in the midst of a major building boom as the Columbus metro area moves east into Licking County. Granville, however, has maintained its ties to the past, preserving as its heritage, an historic district, including its downtown business area, which includes many buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. To find out more about Granville's history, visit the Granville Historical Society website.
